John Spillings set up The Penny Bun Bakehouse with the aim of getting traditional, handcrafted bread back on the British menu.
Having trained as a chef for over 12 years in many of the top Michelin star restaurants across the country, his love for bread and patisserie was discovered whilst working for Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons.
Inspired by French techniques and passion for real bread, he moved back home to Suffolk to open a wholesale bakery, crafting baked goods for hotels, restaurants, gastro pubs and delicatessens in the local area.
